bowties are cool!

I've been sitting on these bowties for a few days while waiting for a sunny day out to take action shots.

They are all completely hand-stitched and made using awesome old ties that had seen better days. I've used the type of brooch back the 'locks' to keep kids from accidently getting poked.

Sewing with old ties presented a few unexpected challenges, though in the end I turned most of the challenges into design features. I am very very happy with how they turned out and I hope you like them, too.

They work great as bowties and as brooches - they also look great on kids and adults. The shape of a tie tends to be enough fabric for one huge bow, one slightly smaller bow and two to three small, thin bows. Each tie is different and has a personality all its own.
